Matt Blast of Eurometrix restores weber triple barrel carburetors. New shafts, bushings, new throttle plates sized to your bore, etc. (plus he's in Pepperell, so not too far from you!)

I’ve purchased here before but prior to the tariffization of our economy so may need to check on how that will affect pricing
 Alternatively contact Pierce Manifolds and see what he recommends for US sourcing. |

Thank you everyone - I have been to all of these web sites, when you go to buy them there are a couple of things that happen
1. Price - one site was over 600 after shipping 2. Availability - some sites have only the small shaft Partklassic (sp) may be the best solution Will post outcome |

When I select the 8.1mm shafts I see  If your bushings are worn, you’re already at 8.1mm or maybe a smidge more. If it’s tight you can hone to 8.1 with an abrasive bore hone (~$35). Measuring what you need is pretty important before assuming things. Agree it’s $600 (parts cost only) if you select the 8mm shaft option but that really isn’t an appropriate option for you unless you’re going to replace all bushings and ream or hone the new bushings to fit 8mm shafts. The 8mm shafts are are the more expensive option because most people go up in size rather than a complete re-do back to standard 8mm as they were when new. Assuming you don’t have a mill, the machine work to ream the new bushings is beyond your average home DIY garage. Not to mention that the long reamer is almost $500. There are ways to do it with a shorter reamer but again, mill, tooling & fixtures will be needed. Similarly to end up out at 8.2mm shafts using your existing bushings likely means you are now in the same tooling situation as using 8.0mm shafts meaning you’ll need to ream bushings to get to 8.2mm. I think current tariff on European auto parts is 15% and then the carrier is going to likely add on a “service fee” for them paying the tariff 1st and processing paperwork and only getting paid by you later . . . So that’s pushing $460+ and now we need to add the actual shipping cost from Europe. So probably $500+ ish is totally within reason. Could see that pushing pretty close to $600 all in. |
